Community Appreciation Walk

  • Halcott Square 120 S Duncan St Baltimore, MD, 21231 United States (map)

Based on the success of two years of community safety walks, we have hit upon the idea of combining member and BHA committee interests and conducting Community Appreciation Walks that will explore and celebrate the safety, architectural, historical, environmental, and social dimensions of our community. Like a mobile stoop sit, we intend these walks to be a healthy opportunity to get out, socialize, and find ways that we as a community can both appreciate and impact our neighborhood and each other. Some walks will be themed or focused on an issue or an area, and some will just be inspired explorations of our wonderful community. We can pick up trash, form 311 requests, investigate issues, or just enjoy the camaraderie of our neighbors, as well as get some exercise and learn about our incredibly diverse community and its built environment. Our first attempt at this will begin at Halcott Square (100 block of S. Duncan) on Wed., Mar. 20 at 7pm and go for however long folks want to take it. The walk may end up at any of several local watering holes. Everyone is welcome to participate, and we can provide escorts home if you need them.
